Nibiru (Planet X)

The theory of Nibiru contends that there will be a collision of Earth and a large planetary-sized object that would destroy the world as we know it and wipe out most of humanity.  This theory started with the claim of a Wisconsin woman in 1995 that claimed a large object would pass by Earth in 2003 and eventually collide with it in the year 2012.

Although this is the weakest-supported view by science today, it does provide us with a realistic starting point for an examination of what would happen if the Earth were to collide with a large celestial body.  Whether you look at this object as another planet, an asteroid, or perhaps a comet, the ramifications are much the same.  Depending on where on our planet the collision occurred, the devastation would be vast and very bleak for all of mankind.  To be struck by such a huge mass would initially cause a great devastation.  If it were to strike somewhere in one of our Oceans, it would create tidal waves the likes of which mankind has never seen.  The waves would likely wipe out great parts of our civilizations around the globe.  If it were to strike land, two things would happen that would signal our likely doom.  For one, the area that the mass hit would be destroyed instantly with the great shock waves being generated wiping out a huge radius from the blast.  For those of us outside the immediate and far-reaching blast radius, we would have to deal with the great cloud of ash ejected in the atmosphere that could block out the sun for months to come.  During this time, plants and animals would die, and man would soon follow.
